Hello! As a writer, and a big fan of absolutely! Magazines, I am thrilled about being a part of this blogging community! As a lover of golden retrievers, I wanted to use my very first blog to introduce an organization that is very dear to my heart – Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue (GBGRR). I became a part of Golden Beginnings two years ago, and my life has been blessed continually ever since.
GBGRR is a non-profit organization, staffed solely by volunteers, devoted to providing rescue and veterinary care for unwanted, neglected, abused, homeless and displaced Golden Retrievers. GBGRR strives to place Goldens in adoptive homes (we like to call them their “forever homes”) where they will receive a lifetime of love. GBGRR was founded in 1999. In its first ten years, GBGRR has rescued and re-homed more than two thousand Golden Retrievers!
Golden Beginnings holds a variety of fundraising, public awareness and educational events throughout the year. The highlight is our Reunion Picnic, where hundreds of rescued Goldens (and the humans who love them) meet to play, romp, swim, socialize and have lunch, and those dogs in their "Golden Years" proudly participate in the "Parade of Seniors". It's not to be missed!
Whether you're interested in fostering, adopting, volunteering, or just love golden retrievers, please take a moment to check out GBGRR’s website – www.gbgrr.org. And be sure to check back here regularly for more blogs about these golden angels!
